We (4 adults and 3 kids) stayed at Woodvilla Lodge during the first week of January 2023. The house is beautiful and very well taken care of. One major point of importance to us is that the house was extremely clean – kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms. We really appreciated this. The kitchen was well equipped. The only thing that we would have found useful that was not there was a handmixer (for blending) – we cooked alot, even soup!
The hosts are great people, very friendly and very helpful and we really appreciated the homemade cakes, mince pies and milk on the day that we arrived. It felt like nothing was too much effort. They also went out of their way to arrange a raised toilet seat for use by one of our party. It made life so much easier.
The bedrooms are definitely spacious enough for 7-10 people. We fit very well as 7 and could have easily squeezed in a couple of more people at the dinner table if it was needed. The garden is lovely and caters very well to children.
The week that we were in Wexford, the weather was extremely bad. A lot of rain. Despite this, we found many things to do in the area bowling, a tour of Johnstown castle, drives to the sea and short walks on the beach. There are a number of other trips that one could take if it was later in the year or if the weather was better.
The whole family really enjoyed our stay and very much appreciated the warmth of our hosts. We highly recommend the house and location and would definitely be open to staying there again!
